How to Calculate Gap Rewards Points on your GapCard Statement
Here’s the rundown on how to interpret your statement. Look under the “Your Rewards Summary” section.
- Beginning points balance: this is how many points you had at the end of last month
- Bonus points: this is how many points you earned if it was double or triple rewards. If you bought something during double rewards, one half of the rewards show up here, the other half in “points earned in our stores”. If you bought during triple rewards, 2/3 of the points show up here, the other 1/3 under “points earned in our stores”
- Points earned in our stores: quite simple. 5 points for every dollar you spent during your billing cycle
- Points adjusted: this is where returned points will show up. If you returned something that you bought with a $20 reward, they will put 2000 points in this section.
- Points converted to rewards: for every 1000 points, you get $10 rewards. Make sure this points amount in this section matches how many rewards they sent you
- Total points: how many you have left now that they may have cashed some out for you.
Now here’s an example with numbers. Let’s say that you spent $1000 in a month, $500 of it was during double rewards, and you returned something that you had bought with a $10 reward.
- Beginning points balance: 0
- Bonus points: 2500
- Points earned in our stores: 5000
- Points adjusted: 1000
- Points converted to rewards: 8000
- Total points: 500
- You should have gotten $80 in rewards in this statement, and you have 500 points left over to rollover to the next statement.
Hope this helps some of you keep the rewards straight. A Big Thanks to Kyle sadies mom over at GF!!!
